Our MATES Volunteer Befrienders are crucial to the delivery of the program and highly valued. Volunteers meeting with a participant on a weekly basis to support the individual to combat social isolation by providing one on one social support and participate in activities that will reduce feelings of social isolation. Volunteers participate in regular training and professional development, engage in our social events and contribute to changing the lives of people in their community.
Sometimes all it takes is one person to reach out a hand and be a friend, for a whole person world to change – that could be you! MATES needs volunteers from all across the state, from every walk of life, younger, older, male, female. You’ll be valued just as you are!
